Announcing the 10 people sharing the stage on Sunday night, June 1st — our second Westside Story Club show.
This will be a memorable night of stand-up comedy and cathartic storytelling, connected by the theme “Unexpected Journeys.” We’ll hear stories and jokes from around the world and through life’s challenges. Remember to pack your laughter and plenty of empathy…

Say hello to….
Jana Fisher
Jana Fisher is a Moth StorySLAM winner who is figuring out the meaning of life over and over again. You can hear her on podcasts such as RISK!, Love Hurts, and Telling Mental Health, of which she is a co-producer. She works in the music industry and lives in LA with her husband Kevin, their son Corbin, and their three cats.
Ron Hart
Ron Hart has written adult films and Disney Channel shows, has been on the Moth Radio Hour, and was about three feet away from O.J. and Al Cowlings as the Bronco rolled by.
Jared Kassebaum
Originally hailing from Indiana, LA-based comedian Jared Kassebaum charms audiences nationally with his unique blend of naive storytelling and witty wordplay. He runs the popular monthly Sawtelle Show in Los Angeles and performs at clubs and festivals all around the country.

Norman T. Leonard
Norman T. Leonard is a writer, doting husband, proud father, amateur zookeeper, wayward woodworker with a few too many scars, guitarist and songwriter for The Moon Wobbles, oddities enthusiast, and passionate hater of small talk.

Natalia Lusinski
Natalia Lusinski is a comedic storyteller, as well as a writer and editor who covers health, travel, relationships, and personal finance. Her work can be found in publications such as Lonely Planet, Forbes, Business Insider, The Zoe Report, Scary Mommy, Chicken Soup for the Soul, and the L.A. Times.
Miyo
Miyo is a Moth StorySLAM Champion and mischievous storyteller based in LA. Born and raised in Japan, she mixes cross-cultural insight with wry humor in her sold-out solo show How To Be Japanese. By day she codes, by night she performs for humans across the country.
Christopher Moncayo-Torres
Christopher Moncayo-Torres is an Ecuadorian-American playwright, teaching artist, and live storyteller, born and bred in Queens, NY, and new-ish to living in LA. Most recently, he performed alongside his Ecuadorian father (yes, really) in “No Sabo,” an award-winning, solo-ish show about rekindling their once estranged relationship, despite their language barrier. He’s now working on a show with his mother. He’s a 2x Moth StorySLAM winner who has been featured on The Moth Radio Hour podcast and is currently one of their instructors.
Julie Pearson
Julie Pearson is a writer, director, and comedian whose work has been featured on Reductress, Spotify Original Podcasts, the Roku Channel, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She will be published in the upcoming issue of Trace Fossils Review, and she co-hosts The Non-Fiction Show, a live lit variety show, on the third Sunday of every month at baby battista/Nico’s Wines in Atwater Village.
Amber Preston
Amber Preston has appeared on national commercials for Buffalo Wild Wings and Booking.com, at numerous festivals from Sketchfest to Gilda’s Laughfest (where she was named “Best of the Midwest”), and even on Marc Maron’s “Five Comedians to Watch” list for Vulture. Along with hosting Los Angeles shows The Cut and Punchline Punchout, her debut album Sparkly Parts is now out on Stand Up! Records.
Alec McNayr
Alec McNayr is a writer, speaker, and entrepreneur. He’s the founder of three marketing agencies (including one of the first-ever social agencies, McBeard), has invested in 100 startups, once sold a pilot script to ABC, and was named to Ad Age’s 40 Under 40 list. He’s the producer and host of the Westside Story Club. He’s married with three daughters.
